Katie Eary

Katy Eary is a London based men’s wear designer who graduated from the Royal college of art in 2008. She is best known for her intense graphic pieces and has been described as street couture. Her ideas are youthful, edgy and loud.

Her collection which hit the AW13 run way show in London last week was inspired by vampires. The models on the run way appeared with fangs, slicked back hair and wearing bold prints. This season she started looking at eighteenth century paintings of banquets. It lead to her hypnotic pink floral prints and blue lobster designs, which were taken from the compositions and rich colours of these paintings. These bold tones stood in contrast with her more muted garments. Her collection looks like it has been taken from a contemporary Dracula film.

I absolutely love Katy Eary's new AW13 collection with her bold colourful prints. Her collection is a mix between smart wear and comfortable street wear. It has a twist which is fun and energetic. To me she makes men’s wear fashion a lot more exciting.
